Career-High 60 Points When the Celtics hosted the San Antonio Spurs on April 30, 2021, Tatum exploded on the court. He finished the night with 60 points, tying Boston’s record for most points in a single game, set by franchise icon Larry Bird. Tatum went five for seven from beyond the three-point line and also made all but two of his 17 free throws. That is an incredible feat, and the Celtics needed it in the game. They struggled as a team early, falling behind the Spurs by as much as 32 points with 3:46 left in the second quarter. What could have been a blowout was turned around by Tatum’s 60-point outburst, resulting in a stunning 143-140 comeback overtime win for Boston. Twenty-one of his 60 points came in the fourth quarter, and another 10 came in overtime. That 10 included two free throws with four seconds left to seal the win.

Tatum’s career-high 60 points ties the Celtics’ single-game record.
