That does not include the plethora of works she has recorded with other artists for their projects. Worldwide, she has sold more than 42 million albums. In late November of 2019, she released a single, “Time Machine,”without revealing whether it indicated a new album in the works or whether she was pulling a Prince and releasing an online only song.

S ONGS IN A M INOR (Released June 5, 2001)

Keys released her debut album in 2001. It charted at number one on the Billboard 200 and sold 236,000 units in its first week. Songs in A Minor prompted Keys’s first headlining tour. The critics loved the tracks on it, and Keys won her first five Grammy Awards based on the album. It also became an instant classic, and in 2013, Entertainment Weekly named the album to its greatest albums of all-time list, placing it at number 57.
