Climate Afghanistan is a country of extreme climate. It has intensely cold winters and fiercely hot summers, both of which are characteristic of any steppe climate. Daytime temperatures can exceed 95°F (35°C), with record temperatures of 120°F (49°C) in the summer in certain locations.
