The horrible stain of slavery remains an unresolved issue in relations between many African Americans and white Americans.

Then the horrible cycle began again. The slave trade flourished for more than three centuries, from the early 1500s to the mid-1800s. During that time, it’s estimated that more than 12 million Africans, mostly from the western and central parts of the continent, were forcibly taken from their homes.
