Egyptian Family Life Family is very important to people in Egypt. Many people live with their parents for a long time, and nearly everyone gets married at some point in their lives. One study said 98 percent of people in Egypt marry. A single person living alone is very rare. People in Egypt feel that their actions reflect very much on their family, so they are careful not to do anything that would bring shame to their rel- atives.
