But people are steadily invading the forests, cutting down trees for timber and converting land to use for agriculture. Many animals are clinging to survival, in danger of becoming permanently homeless. Some have become extinct already. But although a lot of rainforest has been destroyed, a lot still remains. People all over the world are working to save what’s left—and everyone can play a part. If we act in time, it could help not only the animals that live in the rainforest, but the entire planet.
