That’s because the chemical affects how a person moves and thinks. Norepinephrine works like adrenaline, which the body releases when a person gets excited, fearful, or angry. Norepinephrine narrows the body’s blood vessels and increases blood pressure and sugar levels. It gives a person more energy.

Caffeine is a hugely popular stimulant drug. It’s obviously much safer than a lot of the other stimulants discussed here, but it’s still a drug.
