When young people abuse ADHD medications, they often crush the pills and snort them up their noses. This gets the chemicals in the pills into their blood faster than if they swallowed them. It speeds up the pills’ effects on their brains and the rest of their bodies.

ADHD medications can help people who have ADHD. But these drugs also have a downside.
