WHAT IS METHAMPHETAMINE?

Methamphetamine (often known as meth or crystal meth) is one kind of amphetamine. Like all amphetamines, it is a stimulant. It speeds up the processes of the central nervous system. But it is even stronger than most other amphetamines, which makes it even more dangerous.

There is one form of legal methamphetamine, which is used to treat obesity and attention- deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)—but usually meth is a street drug that is created only for the purpose of getting people high. Street meth doesn’t have any medicinal uses.
