Finding
a Puppy
Once you have decided on the breed to
suit your family and lifestyle, the next
step is to find a litter of puppies. With
Internet access, this is not difficult, but
how do you know you are contacting
a reputable breeder who produces
sound, healthy puppies that are typical
of the breed?
T
he best plan is to go to a recommended
source. The easiest way to do this is to contact
the American Kennel Club—the governing
body of pedigree dog registrations and activities in
the United States—and get contact details for Breed
Clubs in your area. The Breed Club secretary can
give you details of local breeders and may know who
has puppies available.
