Sports Psychology
Even athletes in recreational sports may have trust issues among players.
for example, might struggle to develop important romantic relationships if they find that partners only wanted to capture some of their spotlight. A high-school athlete might not trust a coach who is also a teacher, because that class is challenging or frustrating. Even athletes in recreational sports, played in gyms or parks, may have trust issues among players due to personalities or behaviors or skill levels, thus affecting the team’s ability to compete together for a win. Sports psychologists might not be able to rebuild trust once it is broken, but their work can help athletes to develop strategies for professional and personal relationships. A psychological approach can help athletes to manage their levels of trust in others so that there is less chance of a major break that can have serious consequences both on and off the field.
