Agender: Referring to a person who does not identify themselves as having a particular gender. Binary: A system of gender classification in which all people are categorized as being either male or female. Cisgender: An identity denoting when a person’s gender identity or expression corresponds with their birth sex. Gender incongruous: The medical termdenoting when a person’s gender identity does not align with their gender assigned at birth. Nonbinary: An umbrella term for gender identities that are neither male nor female—‌identities that are outside the gender binary. Transfeminine: An identity denoting when a person’s gender identity or expression skews partially or fully feminine and differs from their assigned sex at birth. Transgender: An identity denoting when a person’s gender identity or expression does not correspond with their assigned sex at birth. Transition: The process of changing your appearance, behavior, legal name, or other gendered traits so that they suit your true gender.
