Reaches 1,000th Career Hits Milestone Since joining the Milwaukee Brewers in 2018, Yelich has reached several milestones in his career. One of those milestones was becoming a member of the 1,000 hits club. He joined a group of 1,340 other MLB players to hit this mark in a game against the Pittsburgh Pirates on June 30, 2019. Yelich hit a ball down the left field line in the bottom of the third inning off Pirates starting pitcher Steven Brault. The resulting double was good enough to put him in the club. He became the 11th Brewer to record 1,000 hits in a career (1,031) and now ranks number 10 just above former catcher Charlie Moore, who had 1,029 hits.
