Greatest Moments Christian Yelich’s MLB Career Christian Yelich has quickly developed into one of the best hitters in all of Major League Baseball (MLB). The Florida Marlins drafted him with their first pick in the 2010 draft, and after several years of being a role player, he has emerged as a budding superstar. Yelich began showing flashes of his potential greatness in the 2016 MLB season. It was in that season that he finished in double digits in home runs (21), had 98 runs batted in (RBI), scored 78 runs, and posted a .298 batting average. He continued to develop into a consistent player for the Marlins but never found his star on a team with players like Christian Colon, J. T.
