Chapter 1
Greatest Moments
RUSSELL WILSON’S NFL CAREER Russell Wilson, born November 29, 1988, appeared to have all of the makings of a major league baseball (MLB) shortstop or second baseman. Drafted 140th overall by the Colorado Rockies in the 2010 MLB Draft, Wilson played Class A ball in the summers and was on his way to a pro baseball career. In the autumn, he also attended North Carolina State University (beginning in 2008) where he played football and baseball for the Wolfpack. Wilson made all-conference as a quarterback (QB) in his freshman year, and it appeared that he had numerous athletic options available to him and was going to leave quite a legacy behind him at NC State. That was not to be, however, as Wilson opted to transfer after his junior year to Wisconsin to finish his college play with the Badgers, culminating in a January 2012 appearance in the Rose Bowl and being drafted in the 3rd round of the 2012 NFL Draft.

Chapter 1: Greatest Moments
As the quarterback for the Seattle Seahawks since 2012, Wilson has amassed a 56–23–1 win-loss-tie record, completing 64.6% of his passes and throwing for 18,193 yards and 127 touchdowns with 45 interceptions through the 2017 season. He led his team to back-to-back Super Bowl appearances in 2013 (XLVIII) and 2014 (XLIX), winning in his first appearance. WILSON’S STATS PACK Wilson has put up phenomenal numbers at the quarterback position. In the time that he has led the Seahawks at the quarterback position, he has accomplished the following: • Wilson’s quarterback rating was over 95.0 in each of his first four seasons in the NFL. He is the first quarterback in the history of the NFL to accomplish this feat . • Wilson posted a rating of at least 100.0 thirty-two times in his first four seasons, the most in NFL history. Joe Flacco and Dan Marino are tied at twenty-five games with a passer rating of 100.0 or more in their first four seasons. Technically, Aaron Rodgers has themost games with a rating of 100.0 or more with thirty-eight games in his first four seasons as a starter, however, he did not become the starting quarterback for the Green Bay Packers until his fourth season in the league. • Wilsonhas thrown for 20ormore touchdowns ineachof his six seasons (through2017). • Wilson has the highest yards per attempt average for a quarterback (7.8) since 1951. Wilson’s stats have put him in a class that is unique for quarterbacks coming into the NFL, having started every single game since his rookie year in 2012. All signs indicate great things are heading his way for years to come.
