A Rainy Night in Brazil It was a dark, stormy night on November 5, 2017, in Figueirópolis, a small town of around 5,000 people situated in the central region of Tocantins, Brazil. A gloomy rain had started to patter the streets of the mostly empty town square, save for a party that was going on in the city. Moreira was seated at a quiet local snack bar, enjoying a nice evening drinking with his friends. Witnesses saw him speaking with his sister, who later told news outlets that he was finishing his drink and was on his way to visit his mother’s house near the bar. Unfortunately, Moreira would never reach his destination. An acquaintance of Moreira’s, Danelo Cavalcante, arrived at the snack bar shortly after that, conversing with Valdo Alves Feitosa, the owner of the bar.
