way to Chester County, Pennsylvania, in 2019. From there, Cavalcante resided in the area, beginning a relationship with fellow Brazil native Deborah Brandão. However, things took a turn for the worse when Brandão ended the relationship and filed for a protection order against Cavalcante under accusations of abuse. On April 13, 2021, Cavalcante then brutally stabbed Brandão in front of her two children and fled the scene shortly afterward. Brandão would eventually succumb to her injuries. Cavalcante attempted to evade the authorities with the help of friends but was unsuccessful and captured within a day. He was then charged and convicted of first-degree murder and sentenced to life in prison without parole.
