Yelich Goes a Perfect 6-for-6 and Hits for the Cycle

In an August 29, 2018, road game against the Cincinnati Reds, Yelich recorded six hits. Three went for singles, along with one each for a double, triple, and a home run. He also ended up scoring twice and knocking in three runs. Yelich’s effort helped lead the Brewers to a much-needed 13–12, 10-inning win against the Reds to keep pace with the Chicago Cubs for the overall division lead. This game marked the first time in his career that he hit for the cycle—hitting a single, a double, a triple, and a home run in the same game. Less than three weeks later, Yelich hit for the cycle again,

also against the Reds. He is the fifth player in MLB history to record two cycles in the same season, and the first to do so against the same opponent.
